Under the guidance of Dr. Dilara Tüfekçioğlu, a faculty member at the Faculty of Architecture and the Assistant Coordinator of our university’s Sustainable Campuses Coordination Office, our Chemistry Department students Sudenaz Dağlıoğlu, Sıla Çelik, and Esmanur İleri, who are enrolled in the 'SEC255 Environment, Recycling, and Waste Economy' course, participated in the 'Design a Sustainable Future' competition. This competition, now in its ninth year, was organized by Rönesans Holding, which ranks in the top 10 in Europe on the 'World's Largest International Contractors' list, with the theme of 'Biomimicry' this year. The students, with guidance from their course instructors, developed a project that cleans microplastics from water sources by integrating the disciplines of biology and chemistry. They were awarded in the 'Innovative Idea and Detail' category. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.
